what you called overthinking was your body keeping score
you weren't paranoid. you were paying attention.
you replayed the conversation eleven times looking for the moment it turned.
you told yourself you were being crazy.
you weren’t…
you were doing forensics on something that actually happened…
your subconscious mind was locked in on something that you couldn’t fully grasp…
here is what overthinking actually is….
it’s your mind refusing to close a file that hasn’t been resolved.
in truth…. it isn’t a malfunction…it’s the correct response to an incomplete answer.
you weren’t spinning over nothing….
the suspicion was a hint…
you were spinning over something real that he wouldn’t confirm.
the loop stayed open because he never let it close. every time you got close to certainty, he gave you just enough ambiguity to start over.
that’s not you being obsessive..
listen to me… that’s you being handed a puzzle with a missing piece and being told the puzzle is fine….
and you called it overthinking because he did first.
that’s the part worth sitting with….
you didn’t come up with that word on your own…
he said you’re overthinking it, and in one sentence, he converted his behavior into your defect.
the problem stopped being what he did.
the problem became how much you noticed…
you adopted his word for your own instinct.
you started apologizing for the one thing that was working correctly.
think about how efficient that is…
lets sit with this for a moment….
he never had to explain the text he didn’t answer…
that man never had to come up with an excuse… for the plans that stayed vague, the way he went distant every time you got close.
he just had to convince you that noticing was the flaw.
but your body never agreed to that.
your chest tightened before the message came.
your stomach turned when he said he’d call.
you felt it in your hands, in your sleep, in the way you started reading his tone before you read his words.
that wasn’t anxiety inventing a threat.
that was your nervous system logging a pattern your mind wasn’t allowed to say out loud.
you had the information the entire time. you just didn’t have permission to trust it.
so here’s where the overthinking stops.
it was useful when you needed an answer. it stopped being useful the moment you got one.
if you’re still looping now, you’re not searching anymore. you’re negotiating. you’re looking for a version of the story where you don’t have to leave.
you don’t need more evidence.
you need to accept the evidence you already have.
I hope that after reading this, you’ve gained an extra layer of insight…
I genuinely hope that the words here are reaching the one who needs this the most…
don’t be a stranger…. come back whenever you need this and share this with anyone whom you feel would benefit from these words…
take care, Sin
