At the start of each week, I always make it a point to list out my intentions as well as add to my growing notes of affirmations which I repeat to myself and out loud during the course of the week.
I guess my point in writing this is to share some thoughts, ideas, and a sort of prayer to cover you as this week begins and so with that, I'd like to thank you in advance for showing up to this space, prepared to share some of your time and energy with me.
I'll be honest: I believe 2024 has been the best year of my life so far, for the simple fact that I arrived at this year with a greater understanding of myself and all the things I've experienced over my 35 years of living. A few years ago, I reached a moment in time where I'd come to a realization that who I allowed myself to become and the life I was leading didn't fit the initial plans I had made for myself, and so I began to do all the things I needed to do in an effort to create the type of change that would alter the path of my life.
If you're a subscriber here, you know my story or have read about this journey I've been on. I think the most important thing for me is strengthening my ability to see things objectively and the gift of holding oneself accountable. When you hold a mirror up to yourself, you begin to see not only yourself but your environment in greater focus, and with that, you can make the necessary changes to your life that will correspond with the way you wish to live.
I also want to note that the goal is never perfection. To me, it just makes no sense to live in a way that compromises whatever peace you can cultivate or whatever joy you can maintain.
Now, think of who you want to be this week, this year, this life. And think about what you wish for your external world. Who you are, the way you think, and the decisions you make will often dictate the life you lead and the surroundings you keep. If you want peace, take a moment to remember the things that have a negative effect on your nervous system.
No, seriously, stop for a moment and think about the things and the people who have caused you to compromise your peace of mind, especially in recent months. Whatever and whoever popped into your head, I'm sorry, but you may need to let them go or, at the very least, minimize contact. I think it's totally unnecessary to give time to people who cause you to have an adverse reaction in your day-to-day life. That feeling, that negativity is a form of garbage, and you'd never just choose to live in a space full of garbage bags. When it's time, you take out the trash, don't you? Well, apply that same mindset to anyone who brings you trash into your life.
Repeat after me.....
Each day of life is a gift and I am not obligated to share that gift with anyone who causes me to feel like I should compromise my peace of mind just to entertain unnecessary chaos.
I am at peace with letting go of what no longer fits into my life.
I am at peace with saying no to the things that do not deserve a yes.
I am fully aware that my mindset and my choices have a profound effect on the life I lead,
I am capable of change because I hold myself accountable.
Peace flows through me.
Love flows through me.
Joy flows through me.
If I lose my way, I am always capable of redirecting myself back to the path I'm on.
May this week be the greatest week of your life as you move forward, closing the distance between yourself and everything you deserve.
Love you, be well.
Thank you for the positive reflective inspiration! 🤗☝️
Those waves are sick. It goes well with the flowing of peace, love, and joy.
